Anita Aarons
Principal
As the Principal of Bancroft Lawyers, Anita brings solid business skills and extensive legal experience to private and commercial clients across Melbourne. An accountant, lecturer and entrepreneur, Anita managed her own successful accounting firm before completing a Juris Doctor (JD) at University of Melbourne and embarking on a career in law. She went on to complete a Master of Taxation and is now a recognised leader in her field.
As well as being one of Melbourne’s leading tax lawyers, Anita consults on a variety of areas including Property Law, Family Law and Employment Law. Her clients benefit from a well-rounded approach that enables her to evaluate their requirements from a number of legal and strategic perspectives. She welcomes the opportunity to take a pro-active role in helping clients achieve their goals and prides herself on providing no-nonsense legal advice in a refreshingly approachable manner.
Beyond her client work, Anita is an established speaker and regular contributor to industry conferences, media debates and training activities. Outside of the office, Anita enjoys unwinding over dinner and drinks, discovering new music, and maintaining an active lifestyle.

Colin Peirce
Senior Consultant
Colin brings over 40 years of legal experience to his role as Senior Consultant at Bancroft Lawyers. Prior to joining the firm in 2024, he was the Principal at a boutique legal practice, where he led a diverse practice for more than two decades. Colin holds a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and a Bachelor of Laws, and his areas of expertise include Commercial Law, Conveyancing, Probate, and Wills and Estates. His deep understanding of the law, coupled with a practical and client-focused approach, makes him a trusted advisor to individuals and businesses.
Outside the office, Colin enjoys surfing, beach walks, and relaxing with good music and glass of red wine.

Ashleigh Murdoch
Lawyer
Ashleigh was admitted to practice in March 2025 after completing a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Criminology. She joined Bancroft Lawyers in May 2022 and has since gained experience across a range of legal areas. Ashleigh primarily practices in Family Law, Wills and Estates, and Commercial Law, as well as other general civil law matters. She is passionate about achieving practical and compassionate outcomes for her clients.
Outside of work, Ashleigh enjoys reading, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending time with her cat, Salem.
